CU team in cooperation with The Museum of Decorative Arts in Prague has prepared a series of workshops within the exhibition "Pleiades of Glass" for children aged 8 to 15. During the workshop we found out what glass is and how it is used to make the items we have in front of our eyes every day. But most of all we realized that we all have a glass treasure in our family, through which strong stories about our lives, history, roots and ancestors can be told. The programme was prepared and implemented by Vladimíra Sehnalíková and Dana Havlová Rovenská, lecturers of the UPM Education Department, and Dana guided the pupils through the programme. The pupils were first able to walk through the exhibition and look at it, then they walked with Dana and stopped at the artefacts that interested them during the tour. Pupils were able to try their hand at creating in the active zones in the exhibition, Dana told the story of the creation of glass in a circle on the floor, and the stories of the children and their glass family treasures came up. At the end, the pupils created translucent compositions from the prepared coloured foils to take back to school or home.
