AMASS Onboarding design - Student competition
17. Nov. 2021 - 02. Dec. 2021
We are witnessing the changes in the research environment: from on-field to on-line. Whether we enjoy working from home or not, we need to adapt to the new online-dominant work environment. The University of Leeds is proposing a package of Onboarding design that can be utilised for partners and researchers in similar fields. The student competition aims to obtain novel ideas to tackle identified challenges in previous online workshops with AMASS partners. Students were asked to submit both design works and Service blueprint with potential improvements.
University of Leeds team followed the Onboarding procedure identified by the partners’ workshop using the same platform (Miro board) and process (Consider – Activate – Retain – Engage). Using the same Onboarding process, the Leeds team also experienced similar difficulties. Nevertheless, it was a great chance to reconfirm current challenges in the Onboarding design. The introductory workshop was performed through Teams meeting and the Miro board. (You can see our students’ naughty creativity!) Eight students joined the workshop, and one student submitted his design work. We gave one week for completing this task. Although we have not received many design works, our team was impressed by the design work completed in a minimal time. |
So, here comes the winner!
The winner of the AMASS Onboarding design student competition is Xiangtian Zang from the School of Design. The prize (Amazon voucher) is on its way, and Xiangtian may have an opportunity to work with one of our partners as an intern. Having seen his passion for Onboarding design, we are confident that Xiangtian’s design skills can enrich our partner's research and AMASS project.
Well done! Congratulation!
