July–November 2021
Protocols for cooperation with the community centre were established in the beginning of the project (July 2021). The artists proposed to conduct artistic activities in the duration of two hours during 3 days per week in the community centre with two groups: A) 7–15 year old participants, and B) adult participants during a period of five months.
The experience was carried out with children, young people and adults, who are the inhabitants of Bairro de Paradinha (23 adults and 15 young people). 23 sessions for children and young people and 19 sessions for adults were conducted between July and November 2021. The artistic activities were designed according to the conversations with the participants. They explored typography printing and silk-screen printing to produce sketchbooks and T-shirts. They also explored textile art and ceramics. The activities also included a visit to a local museum in the old city. This visit was a way to cross the bridge between the margins of the city (Paradinha) and the city centre.
An exhibition of the process and products of AMASS in Paradinha will be curated by the artists in the museum and is to be opened in early 2022.
